Mission: Episode Five: Temporal guests
Location: U.S.S. Cychreides

We attended the conference at the New Romulus Embassy. Things did not progress as intended.

Due to the confidential nature of our involvement, details will be sparse. Officers with Alpha level clearance may request information from the Captain regarding the events following the Conference.

An assassin attacked the conference, poisoning Chancellor J'mpok with Veridium 6, a deadly poison that has no known antidote. The dosage was enough to cause the Chancellor respiratory distress and convulsions, however it was no intended to kill him outright.

During the panic caused by the chancellor's collapse, the assassin was able to use a concealed weapon to fire upon the President. However, a lieutenant on honor guard duty threw herself into the trajectory of the plasma shot, and died in his place.

Doctor Selren provided medical aid to the president and chancellor, they are expected to make a full recovery.

The assassin was apprehended by embassy security personnel, and Captain Mae assisted in her interrogation.

I am not authorised to record the results of that interrogation, nor the events that followed.
