Personality & Traits

General Overview Cold and logical on the exterior, but conflicted and feeling beneath, T'pali struggles daily to have logic win over emotion due to her mixed heretage.
She will follow any order, even those that on the surface would appear to be against Starfleet protocol, if it would mean a swift and efficient resolution to a problem. She tends to advise, rather than question, and holds the utmost respect for the chain of command.
Strengths & Weaknesses Her uncommon physiology provides both a strength and a weakness, as she is half betazoid, T'pali posesses the empathic abilities of her mother's blood, and the tactile telepathy of her father's. This comes at cost, however, as it hampers her ability to supress her emotions in the necessary vulcan fashion.

Starfleet's solution to this was a neural supressant delivered via hypospray that controls her empathy and stops unwanted intrusion by outside emotions. She must take this once a day.

As vulcan, she possesses enhanced strength compared to a human, and a brilliantly technical mind, that she employs in her work as a tactical and security officer.
Ambitions She lacks true ambition, merely aiming to work to the best of her ability and be a valuable asset in her assignments. She wishes to introduce a more strategically valuable security force, in the vein of a Hazard Team.
Hobbies & Interests She has a fascination with security operations and scenarios, inspired by the short lived hazard teams of the U.S.S. Voyager. This in mind, she regularly looks at improving and modifying weapons systems to be more precise and effective for away missions. As yet, none of her modifications have been approved by starfleet, however, the academy did give her an accolade for her application of marksmanship skills.

Personal History T'Pali applied for starfleet academy in her mid teens, and was accepted to train in tactical starfleet operations and security.
She holds a graduate in marksmanship, starship weapons systems, and squad assault tactics.

As a vulcan she posesses a naturally high IQ, though thanks to her Betazoid blood, she still struggles to suppress her emotions, finding time spent amongst humans to hinder this process immensely. This cost her entry to starfleet academy three times, before finally gaining admittance when she was seventeen.

During her time in the academy she was greatly influenced by the other races there, displaying very unvulcan tendancies toward socialising, emotional attachments and team interactions that served her well in fitting in.

She became a part of a group of cadets who's goals were to become M.A.C.O operatives, and worked with them in squad assault simulations and battlefield training. Skills that were highly valued in the current climate, with the Klingons declaring war, and the Borg's continued incursions.

Though she would ultimately choose not to become a M.A.C.O operative and instead was assigned to starship security, the lessons she learned remain important and valued in resolving dangerous situations.
Service Record Starfleet Academy Graduate; Tactical Starship operations. Starship Security.

Honors; Personal Marksmanship, Starship weapons systems, Squad assault tactics.

Accolades; Showed strength and dignity in the Kobayashi Maru test, and was able to disable two of three klingon vessels with well placed phaser bursts, before a warp core breach ended the simulation. Had the simulation continued, a transwarp beacon had been employed to call for starfleet assistance in a well thought out attempt to legitimately beat the test.

Lead a squad of M.A.C.O cadets through a simulated invasion of earth space dock by borg forces, and was able to drive off the borg with personal arms. Cadet T'pali was reprimanded however, for using classified information to replicate a set of TR-116b projectile rifles in one of the simulator's armory replicators.

Holds the third place record for hand phaser marksmanship, clearing a level 7 marksmanship course in the holodeck with 57/60 targets hit in under a minute. A single phaser shot was permitted per target.

Starfleet recommends postings with a focus in Tactical operations, away missions and starship security. Further training in Investigative roles is reccomended.
