The mission with the Dallas was a success, but the understaffed crew of the Cychreides has its hands full with repairs if they want to bring the ship to full operational capability.
We've decided to stop behind a moon in the Olmerak system and bring the ship partially offline.
As the repairs progressed and to alleviate the stasis of the situation, me and Lt. Essex decided to implement some of my new algorithms to increase the efficiency of the new EPS manifolds the Cychreides received after the war.
The upgrade went extremely well, with the help of security chief Talan and the monitoring of Dr. T'pel, which led to our discovery of the day.
An unknown ship inside a hollow and sealed asteroid with what turned out to be to newly formed humanoids, carrying a deadly virus.
I must commend our security chief for thorough security measures and even more, our doctor, for leading the investigation into this matter and alerting us to the danger.
With the lifeforms back where they came from, a warning beacon set on the asteroid and Starfleet Medical alerted to the situation I can breathe in relief for a danger averted.
Although Dr. T'pel's approach to solving the situation and the sample she's taken for study make me somewhat uneasy.
