Introduction

Welcome to the Starfleet Tactical Manual. Throughout the following pages and articles, we will address the fundamentals and intricacies of starship-to-starship combat. Successfully engaging another vessel in space requires a massive amount of skill and coordination between both a commander and his/her crew, and such engagements can quickly become overwhelming to the unprepared crew member. It is essential for all crew to become familiar with the systems of an Advanced Heavy Cruiser Line starship, as well as its strengths, weaknesses, and performance capabilities.

The Resolute-class starship -- while being one of the newer and most versatile starships ever constructed by Starfleet -- was not designed as a combat-oriented vessel, however, like all Starfleet vessels, it is capable of a variety of mission profiles and is adequately armed to be able to defend itself and engage hostile starships. The Resolute-class' strengths lie in its large size and versatility and it is much more ideally suited in exploration and support roles rather than direct engagements.
