=/\= 3.0.1 U.S.S. Saratoga Incident
Created by Commander Nikolay Remdan on Thu Oct 29th, 2015 @ 5:51am
Prologue
The U.S.S. Saratoga (Advanced Escort) was placed on a research mission to a remote system in the Alpha Quadrant to scan and observe a System Anomaly that seemed to be camouflaged as a dying star that suddenly became a steady black hole anomaly that threatened two Life Sustaining planets. Saratoga left from Deep Space Nine and arrived approx. 10 Hours later. Initial scans reported an empty system and the "Black Hole" was nowhere on scanners. Upon closer inspection, something knocked the Saratoga's sensors offline, as well as their long range communications array. Within this blackout, something was discovered about the Saratoga's strangely fluctuating Warp Core readouts. When Sensors were restored, Five confirmed vessels lay ahead of the Saratoga flanked by a Temporal Rift.
Incident Occurrences
I.S.S. Saratoga was found to be the lead ship of a task force sent as a scout force for a later Incursion to our Universe. Engagement began but was limited to the disarmament and disabling of the U.S.S. Saratoga. U.S.S. Saratoga began drifting towards a large class M planet and arrived in a decaying orbit 8 hours later. U.S.S. Saratoga regained power enough to charge weapons and launch 2 probes to attempt communication to the Ninth Fleet at DS9. Communication was quickly gained and cut by the Terran Vessels assuming the Saratoga for scrap. The Second skirmish between the Saratoga and it's Mirror counterpart ended with the Saratoga's damaged Core compromising containment and leaking radiation onto decks 4-12. Escape pods were launched and shuttles and Runabouts scrambling off the cut off flight decks. Runabout 2 collected: Captain Bob Walker (Severely Injured), Commander Sara Tyler (Injured/Child-Bearing), and Lieutenant Commander Nikolay Remdan (Injured). I.S.S. Saratoga fired on the Engineering section with a overcharged Phaser charge upon approximate location of the Saratoga's Core, compromising final containment fields and detonating the Saratoga into a quickly decaying orbit. Runabout 1 escaped overcrowded from picking up 2 escape pods worth of crew before being warped off by incoming fire. Shuttles 1-4 were destroyed with unknown casualties. All other crew are presumed K.I.A.
Runabout 2
Captain Walker was already losing blood from his missing arm and chest wounds. And Commander Tyler was having minor aches from her womb, but medical scans concluded her baby was okay. Walker died shortly after boarding Runabout 2 and passed command to the Commander. Runabout 2 was tailed by the I.S.S. Saratoga into low orbit of the M class planet and was "strongly coaxed" to land among the wreckage of the U.S.S. Saratoga which had mainly crashed down. Commander Tyler was injured in the crash and emergency surgery was attempted to remove a piece of shrapnel from her chest. A Terran away team, commanded by Lieutenant Commander Remdan's mirror, to kill off the immediate survivors cut open the damaged runabout and killed the pilot instantly. Commander Tyler began to have contractions upon capture, but was shot and killed by the Terran Commander. Medical scans indicate the baby died with her mother, the father was never identified but was confirmed to be among the U.S.S. Saratoga's 600 crew. Lieutenant Commander Remdan's debrief states the Commander Tyler died in his arms after attempting to birth the baby by "willing command" of their Terran captors. Runabout 2 was then towed back into orbit containing the corpse of Commander Tyler and Lieutenant Commander Remdan and commenced drifting towards DS9 after an attempt was made to restart the vessel after contact with he Terran force was ceased. U.S.S. Cormorant (Nebula-Class) picked up the nearly dead Lieutenant Commander and Tyler's body to be transferred to the closest medical station, to receive emergency surgery.
Debrief
Lieutenant Commander Remdan was debriefed and informed of 5 survivors of the Saratoga and reported the Terran fleet's containment by the Ninth Fleet and retreat back into the rift. Remdan never confirmed who debriefed him, but was promoted to Commander and awarded the Starfleet Medal of Valor. His Psychological evaluation showed minor scarring, but was passed off as benign he was allowed to return to service. It is unknown if this Terran Scout Force was involved with the 2409 Mirror Incursion, [REDACTED] refuses to respond.
