Personal History

T'Lak of the house Khirakh shares the same genetic quirk as his family and roughly 15% of the Klingon population. Unlike most Klingons, his body is highly resistant to the genetic therapies used to remove the augment DNA and cure the condition. And like other hybrids, T'lak endures the barely concealed contempt from most of Klingon society. Known mosty as tuHmoH yIt, which translates to Walking Shame, Klingons such as T'lak are mostly ostracised, forced to live in the shadowy fringes of Klingon society. This treatment has bred a rebellious streak and an aswering contempt in the Hybrid communities. Many hybrids rebel against Klingon society, becoming pirates or so troublesome they are ultimately killed. But most remain loyal to an Empire that would just as soon they did not exist. T'lak is one of these hybrids. And like other hybrids, his hybrid Klingon-Human heritage also gives him a greater tolerance of severe cold, much like a human, certainly far superior to a Klingon's. It has been observed that after the second generation, Klingon hybrids with this rare genetic quirk have begun displaying augment traits such as heightened strength, endurance and reflexes, making them at the very least the physical equals of non hybrid Klignons.
