Personal History		Born into a military family, Benjamin became very familiar with the ways of Starfleet. From birth his father wasn't around often, Captain Scott Barnes is the captain of the U.S.S. Galactius. Raised on earth solely by his mother he idolized his starship captain father. When he was 16 his mother began to fall ill and he made an attempt through Starfleet to contact his father. He then found out that his father had remarried and abandoned his previous family. His mother passed away after he turned 18 and he was left without a family. Benjamin then resented his father and never wanted to be like him. Although he continued his dream of joining Starfleet, he vowed he would never become the captain of a starship, and he would never have a family that he could leave behind. Before joining Starfleet Academy he took his mothers maiden name.
